Something serious/hilarious/Ican’twaittotellyou is about to be revealed.
**********
It all started Monday night. It was Ellie’s 21st birthday on Sunday, so she was having a big celebration on Saturday night with everyone. As you know, I was busy Bath-ing (baha), so I was unable to attend. Consequently, Ellie and I decided we would go out for desserts and drinks when I got back. It worked out perfectly too because we got to then celebrate Ellie’s birthday but also, Monday was her sister’s birthday too. Ellie’s sister, Emma, passed away a couple years ago in a car accident. On Ellie’s left wrist, she has a tattoo of her sister’s name under a picture of a butterfly, one of Emma’s favorite things. We found a restaurant earlier that week that had butterfly wallpaper inside, so we planned to go here. It was the perfect place <3
After some delicioussss dessert (Trio of chocolate - chocolate cheesecake, chocolate brownie and a Baileys & white chocolate mousse & Almond tart served with red wine poached pear and BLACK CURRANT sorbet J ) I gave Ellie her present. Being a broke college student, I wrapped it in The Catholic Herald newspaper I got from church the other day; so not only did she get her present, she got a huge picture of Pope Francis too ;)
So, Mariah and I have what we call a “sister journal”, a journal where we can write to each other when we are not physically together. Just a little book we can scratch down if we see something that reminds us of the other one, or vent if something is bothering us, or if we just need to talk to the other one. She gave it to me when she moved to Kalispell and I found that it really helped us stay connected and helped our relationship continue to grow stronger. Last week, when Kotryna and I were downtown, we passed by a store window and something caught my eye- a journal with floral print (Ellie’s favorite) and butterflies. I gave it to Ellie, explaining the “sister journal”. I told her that it was a huge source of strength for me in times when I missed my sister so I thought it might be that for her too <3
Afterward, we went out for drinks, seeing as how Ellie was now legal in both countries ;) We walked along for a bit when we came to The Black Griffin Pub. “This looks good. Wanna try it out or keep going?” There was live music inside so needless to say, we tried it out. After Ellie ordered her official Long Island Iced-Tea and I got my frou-frou Frangelico Coffee, we found a table and sat down. We were just getting into some real talk when all of a sudden three guys walk in.
***You have reached the classified information. Read on, valued reader. Consider yourself very special because what I am about to share with you, has never been told to anyone (well, with the exception of a few…) before. Brace yourself. ***
You may have seen this picture on a social networking site known as Facebook with the following caption:
"So there we were, just minding our own business at the good ol' Black Griffin Pub, when all of a sudden CHRISTIAN FREAKIN BALE walks in. And guess what- he liked my Batman pun ((= "
I am sorry/not sorry to say… the gentleman featured in this photograph is but a doppelganger. And the best doppelganger I have ever seen at that. I kid you not, if his friend didn’t start talking to us and we didn’t do introductions, I would have sworn this guy was legitimately Christian Bale. I have never met anyone who looked so much like someone else. Well I mean, besides an identical twin or something. Anyways… yes, that is the big news. I am awfully sorry if you were one of the 114 (and counting) people I fooled on Facebook… but I have to say thank you to all of you because I now have a six-pack from all the laughing I have done since I posted it… ;)
I do feel a little bad for tricking everyone, so I invite you all to come to the dark side. Instead of going to my post and telling everyone this “Christian Bale” is an imposter, I have a proposal/experiment to see who reads my blogs. If you are reading this and therefore now know that I really just met a nice man with a beard with an excellent sense of puns, I invite you to comment on the picture with a “ <!>” ( it kinda looks like a bat right??) I just think it would be funny for us/fascinating to see how many people are reading this haha :P So, yes, bat comment away!! <!> <!>
Okay now that that’s all cleared up ;) I was really being serious that he liked my (actually Mariah’s) pun just for the record. Also, I hope this little joke doesn’t infringe on your outlook of my adventure documentation… I promise I tell the truth (:
So this blog is getting a bit long so I will start a fresh one. As for this one though, a very big thank you for reading. Means a lot to me you guys care about what I’m doing ;)
I’m sorry for lying about seeing Batman… but you have to admit, that was hilarious ;P
Keep Calm, it’s not really Christian Bale.
;P ;P ;P
Cheers!
